1. For facial makeup: Soak up a cotton pad/ball and gently sweep away makeups.
2. Remove eye makeup: Keep your eyes closed and put the soaked cotton on your eyelids for a few seconds. Move the pad in the direction of your eyelash. This should clean off most of the makeup. For remaining eye makeups, fold the pad in half and wipe the edges with the folded corner. Gently lift the eyelid with your fingers, use a cotton swab with makeup remover to wipe the remaining mascara and eyeliner on the eyelashes and eyelids clean.
3. Remove lip makeup: Hold the cotton pad between the index finger and ring finger to remove the lip makeup. Place the cotton pad horizontally and move the cotton pad up and down, and wipe while pressing.
4. Clean the face: To make sure all the makeup is removed, you might want to use cleanser afterwards.

Main Ingredients

The main ingredients of micellar water are generally:

1. Water: About 90%. Solvent for active ingredients
2. Alcohols: Bring a refreshing feeling and it is also antibacterial.
3. Hexylene Glycol: Like most glycols, Hexylene Glycol is a solvent. It is normally used to make products more spreadable, or to make thick formulas thinner.
4. Glycerin: It also exists in our skin. A common, safe, effective and cheap molecule used for more than 50 years. Glycerin is a classic moisturizer which moisturize the skin lipids, helping to keep them healthy by avoiding irritation and strengthening the protection barrier. 10% is a commonly used and effective concentration. But 3% would be effective too with correct usage and sometimes the concentration can go as high up to 20-40%. Moisturizers with glycerin can work well for very dry skins.
5. Softeners and emollients: for skin smoothness and moisturizing;
6. Buffer: adjust the pH of the product;
7. Preservatives: such as methyl paraben, propyl paraben, phenoxyethanol, etc.;
8. Astringents, cooling agents, and appropriate perfuming.
9. Solubiliser (eg Polysorbate 20) : the surfactant that does the cleansing

Precautions

1. Dry cotton pads will pull our skins, causing damage to the skin barrier and skin problems. When using a cotton pad, be sure to fully moisten the cotton pad and wipe gently. Avoid excessive pulling;
2. As eyes and lips are more sensitive, try to use special makeup remover products on these areas.
